The reason I serve, and want to continue serving, can be summed up in three words ... I love kids! As a father of four children and the recipient of a small-town West Texas public education, I desire to continue leveraging my passion for kids and my professional experience to help Shallowater ISD ensure all students reach their highest potential and are prepared to be the leaders, entrepreneurs and workforce of tomorrow.

Over the course of the past three years, I have witnessed the heart our educators have for our children and want to ensure we celebrate and support them as our community’s most valuable resource. I was blessed as a student by loving educators and I credit any success I have had as an adult to my public education. I am honored to return this blessing for another three years on the Shallowater Board of Trustees.

My goals over the next 2+ years mirror the goals adopted by the Board of Trustees and Superintendent (summarized below). These goals are grounded in the SISD Belief Statements. I look forward to sharing these goals with our community in the coming months and value your continued feedback as we plan for the future. Continue long-range growth planning that honors the history and traditions of Shallowater ISD  while maintaining the highest quality academics, athletics and facilities. Support, recognize and retain our amazing Educators. Expand High School course offerings and refine systems to ensure Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade meet/exceed standards in core courses. Implement support systems for 1:1 technology for everyday learning. Ensure student and staff safety in all settings.

My experience serving as a Trustee has refined my knowledge in school finance, budgeting, organization structures, and most importantly the role a Trustee plays in preparing our children for lives full of opportunity. During our monthly board meetings, I do my best to pull from my background in financial services and management, as well as past leadership experience for the good of Shallowater ISD and all its stakeholders. I plan to continue to leverage the relationships I have built with our State Legislators to ensure public education remains a priority and advocate for the interests of Shallowater ISD.

Finally, it is my faith, love as a father, responsibility as a leader, and commitment as a volunteer that will continue to benefit the District most. Thank you for the trust you have placed in me over the past years. It is an honor to serve you for another term.
