Meet the Librarian:  Shelly Powe

Being the Intermediate Librarian is a great job! The BEST part is that I get to work with every single student in the building. I enjoy watching the kids get excited when they get to move up in their AR reading levels and striving to get to the next level. Thanks for sharing your children with me. Please feel free to come by and check us out.

CENTERS

We have a Viewing Center where students can watch video versions of popular children's books. We also have a Listening Center where students can listen to an audio recording of a book. We have a Puzzle Center with fun and challenging hand held manipulatives, some of which are electronic. The Computer Center is a favorite. The students can play an educational video game or visit fun websites. The Browsing Box has unique and entertaining books that the students can thumb through; the Guinness Books, lift-the flaps, pop-ups, and hidden picture books are always fun. The Magazine Center accomodates students when they have a chance to browse the children's magazines we have available.
