Intermediate Library Mission:

*The mission of the Library Media Center is to serve the Shallowater Intermediate School community in the following ways:
*Provide a safe, inviting, and nurturing environment that children love to visit.
*Promote a lifelong love of reading, literature, and learning for both pleasure and information.
*Provide quality resources for our children and staff in a variety of print and technological formats.
*Purposefully provide library skills curriculum instruction.
*Assist the staff with classroom curriculum support in any feasible way.

 

Centers
*Viewing Center: students can watch video versions of popular children's books.
*Listening Center: students can listen to an audio recording of a book.
*Puzzle Center: students encounter fun and challenging handheld manipulatives, some of which are electronic.
*Computer Center: students can play an educational video game or visit fun websites.
*The Browsing Box has unique and entertaining books that the students can thumb through including the Guinness Books, lift-the-flaps, pop-ups, and hidden picture books.
*The Magazine Center: students have the opportunity to browse the children's magazines we have available.
