ParentSquare - School to Home Communication
Shallowater ISD uses ParentSquare as a unified tool for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number – the information they provided at registration in ParentPortal.

- Go to ParentSquare and download the app for Android or iPhone (ParentSquare will be available to new, incoming students, and their parents after the new school year has rolled over in Parent Portal, late July to early August).
- Once registered at Shallowater ISD, ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent using their preferred email address and phone number from Parent Portal. Shallowater ISD staff will log in using your SISD Google account. *Keep in mind any changes are updated at midnight every day, so if you don’t see changes immediately, check back the following day.*
- Verify your information (you’ll only need to do this once).
- Set your notification preferences to Instant or Digest (once per day) depending on your preference.
- Set your language settings to the language you want to send and receive messages.
- Explore your dashboard – desktop and mobile app!

All district and school, grade level and classroom information will now be sent to your computer or phone via email and/or text. For even more convenience, download the ParentSquare app (available for free for iOS and Android devices).

- Shallowater ISD: Schedule all Posts to Parents to arrive between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to respect time boundaries.
Make sure to include the following items
- Welcome Post - Select the Option for Do not notify (only post on 'Posts' page)
- Utilize a template located within the ParentsSquare Menu, by selecting “New Posts” and then following the directions below.
- Schedule Meet the Teacher Appointment Sign-Ups
- Open the dialog with parents, sending them a Direct Message with photos or feedback of their student at school
- Request a Wish List or other Sign-Up Lists for Parents
- Create groups for subsets of students, clubs, UIL groups, etc.
- Add Events to your class Calendar
- Upload Files/Forms/Flyers you want accessible to Parents
- Access your Class Directory

Parent Square is a mass communication system that school districts use to communicate district messaging and campus-level messaging.

1. Download the App for Android or iPhone
2. Log in using your Shallowater ISD Google Account (Employees) or Parent Portal email (Parents)
3. Verify your Information (you’ll only need to do this once)
4. Set Your Notification Preferences to Instant or Digest (once a day) depending on your preference
5. Set your Language Settings -
The system is now live. Current Staff and Students (6th grade and higher) may log in using their Shallowater ISD Google Account, and Parents using the email account we have for them in Parent Portal.

Please verify that your information is current in Parent Portal as ParentSquare pulls information directly from that system. If you have a change to make, you may do so in Parent Portal or contact your school’s secretary.

New students to the district will not be loaded into ParentSquare until after the first days of school. ParentSquare updates information nightly. Any changes will be reflected within 24-48 hours.

Please make sure you are using the same email that you use with your Parent Portal account. You can correct or edit information in Parent Portal. After you provide any proof documents the registrar requires, once approved, Parent Portal will sync with ParentSquare and you'll be able to sign in with the same email you use in Parent Portal.

If you add your spouse in Parent Portal, once approved, Parent Portal will automatically sync with ParentSquare at midnight and you will both have access.
